The Zoning Bylaw is a way to regulate what can occur on a specific property or group of lots, including the types of uses which are permitted, the sizes and height of buildings, the building setback from property boundaries, and the amount of parking required.
The Zoning Bylaw designations for properties are based on the Official Community Plan (OCP). The OCP sets the direction in which the community will grow and the policies to achieve that growth. The OCP is the bylaw which outlines the community's goals and objectives for land use.
In Peachland, all properties are assigned a specific zoning designation, which is described in the Zoning Bylaw. The Zoning Bylaw implements the regulatory policies outlined in the Official Community Plan.
